Athens, Greece – Cero Generation (Cero) has a joint venture with Wattcrop in Greece, which has been awarded Green Start-Up of the Year at the Green Brand Awards 2023.
The Green Brand Awards recognise innovation in products, services and development processes that promote the green economy in Greece. More than 200 business leaders, academics and media professionals gathered in Athens to celebrate this year’s winners.
Wattcrop’s achievement represents a culmination of the significant growth the company has achieved recently in the renewable energy sector. It has a portfolio of over 1.2GW of PV, and 700MW of storage projects under development.
In July 2021, Cero and Wattcrop announced this joint venture partnership to develop an extensive portfolio of solar PV projects and storage projects in Greece. The projects being developed will deliver clean, low-cost energy to communities and businesses across the country in an ethical and transparent way.
Wattcrop’s recognition by the Green Brand Awards reflects its work actively supporting decarbonisation, adopting strict ESG and environmental protection criteria, embracing digitalisation and creating new project development tools. It is shaping best practices in the sector and raising critical issues, changing the current methods of renewable energy system project development in Greece.
